Hi Annmarie one side of my family are from the highlands. I remember my first item I knitted I couldn't cast on or off mother had to do that bit for me I was 3years old and it was a vest for my baby brother who had just arrive home from hospital. I can't read a crochet pattern so I have to devise all my own patterns which sometimes entails lots of undoing and trying again.
