Re: Help!! - Stitch confusion

Your are right Kath. I don't really understand crochet patterns, I've never been able to follow one. I can never work our if I'm being told to make a stitch in the top of the last stitch or between the pillars or in a chain. I think I know what it's asking you to do but I need to see a photo if ther...

Re: Patty Pan Squash - recipes please

I love petty pans.

When they are small baby discs just use them the same way you use courgettes.

When you leave them to grow into big yellow discs treat them the same way as any squash/marrow.

mmmm stuffed or chopped up and roasted with with fresh rosemary and sage.

Made into soup yum yum

Re: Support English Orchards

I have my own small orchard which are all English varities of apple, pear and cherry.

If we don't support our local growers we will lose what little commercial growers and our delicious brands of apples to the more tastless varieties from the EU and USA.

Re: A few finished crochet items

Lovely I especially like the cat Thank you, :tyou: He was completely designed by accident. I wanted to see if I could crochet a teapot cosy. I had to undo it twice before it fitted. I then put it onto the teapot and noticed the two top corners stound out like cat ears. So I decided to make them sta...

Re: Suggestions for plastic cartons that washing tabs come

Make holes in the bottom and use them for when you need to 'pot on' plants :) A good one is make a hole in the lcentre.id make sure it's not rough you can use a piece of fine sandpaper wrapped around a bamboo can to smooth the hole. Now pop in your ball of yarn, thread the end of the yarn through th...

Re: A few finished crochet items

Thank you all for your kind comments.

I can't read a crochet pattern so I have to devise all my own patterns which sometimes entails lots of undoing and trying again.
