craft robo blades

Postby Carolyn » Tue Feb 28, 2012 9:59 pm

The other thread viewtopic.php?f=104&t=55873 has moved onto blade discussion, as I am clearly behind the times I thought it was worth a new thread.

so I have started looking around. JJ has had a go with these

280804514450 The Decal Box (shop name) thedecaldude (username)

is this the new blade holder for all robo's? so does the holder make a difference in the cutting :

I am much confused now....

The blade that I bought fits into the existing blade holder very easily.

The Graphtec one completely replaces the robo blade and holder. Instead of using the coloured caps you turn the ratchet and use the numbers on the side.

I intend sending off to where JJ got hers.

I am on my last blade (old type - I stocked up!!) and looking at these new Silhouette ones that you just turn to set the blade depth - do they work well? Sounds better than having to change all the time

No Clare. If you can get hold of some old Robo ones please do. The new ones clog up and you cannot get the debris out of the blade housing, only used mine for two sheets of card before reverting to the old Robo blade.

Graphtec are apparently responding to customer complaints and producing a new design for the Cameo blade - was rumoured to be out this summer, still waiting. I think I know where the spindles for the old blade holder are available if you're interested.

I clearly don't use mine enough, as not needed to change - but am interested in what I need to replace.
