Have fun. Any reason for going or is it just an excuse to get away for a few days?

Amazingly there are fabric shops...No bargains though.

And a row of haberdashery shops like we had in UK when is was little. Not been in them as were closed yesterday when I stumbled across them

here are few pics of some fabric shops....

Some were amazingly beautiful - and had prices in the high tens and early 100s so assume that this was per metre!

other shop had loads of offcuts - they were mainly dressmaking fabrics, another shop had cottons but were over 10 euro a metre so like the UK and didn't see anything that was different.

But lovely to see.

will get some pics off camera and post some on here later, have posted a few from phone on FB.

Sounds like you will have to go back and have a browse. We are up in Lincolnshire visiting friends. Today we went to an old RAF camp that is now an antique outlet. Driving there we watched the Red Arrows doing a bit of practice. We bought a couple of wooden boxes from the antique place. The first one is just a plain box but the second one is a little bit different. It is a Watts-cam tie press. I didn't know much about it but it is an edwardian box with a metal clamp on the top.

http://antiques.marketplacesinc.com/product/411/edwardian-watts-cam-tie-press-box I didn't pay that much for it.

sounds interesting - what are you going to do with it?

Fun seeing the red arrows too - they must have known you were visiting!

Thee original plan was to turn it into a jewellery box. I will have a proper look at the boxes when I get home. Today we have been to Cleethorpes. Bit wet this afternoon and very cold but we had a nice time walking along the beach, eating fish and chips and visiting the 2p slots in the arcade.

We come up and visit friends about twice a year. They live near Gainsborough but we go all over when we visit. Maybe we can arrange to meet for coffee when we come up again.

If anyone is ever near Westward ho! I would love to meet up for a quick gossip and consume cake.
