Craft room conversion started

Postby Melis » Tue Oct 24, 2017 7:37 pm

Today has been the start of the work. Yesterday we finished digging the trench for the electric cable and water pipes. I'm aching a bit. Today the electrician came and drilled holes in the kitchen wall for the cable and changed our kitchen lights. We now have l e d spots that are so bright it is like daylight in there. The bath and stuff is being delivered next Mon.

We are taking photos as we go so I can show you what we have been doing.

More cabling in the garden room. He can't wire it all in until we fit the insulation and we can't do that until the plumber comes next week.

The revolting lights in the living room and on the landing are now history. The downstairs toilet has been emptied ready to have a quick rub down of the the gloss work so I can brighten up the tongue and groove and I have finally chosen on a colour for above the T&G. I did want to go a bit dark and use some very grey colour but we have a couple of tins of duck egg that will look nice with some artwork I have planned to put in. (Some cards I bought from Whistlefish).

Still working on the garden room. It now has a bath but I can't use it yet as we need to put the tongue and groove up. Will share photos soon.

Today I have had a bath. The room still looks like a building site but it was lovely finally having a good soak. (No crafting in there yet though).

Here is a quick update on the garden room. All the plumbing and electrics are done. Some plastering has been done but we won't have time to complete before Christmas so I have started moving my craft stuff in. I have had to alter what I had planned as the radiator could only go in one place. Also I have realised the IKEA storage I have is slightly different sizes :x I bought 2 a few years ago and a new one last year. Thankfully I can work around it but I had filled the smaller one before realising.
