Naked cakes

Postby Carolyn » Sat Jun 13, 2015 10:38 am

These seem to be the in thing - all over the internet:

my friend has a friend whose daughter has produced this book - she had it on her table when I went there on Thursday. Not sure I can agree that you can make a battenburg without marzipan and call it naked!

That cake looks nice however! Not sure I like the 'naked cakes' title.

Surely marzipan is the whole point of Battenburg?

Not heard of naked cakes, but the picture looks impressive.

me neither - but all over the internet - people have them for wedding cakes...

Some are just cakes sprinkled with icing sugar, I don't think that is new - that is just a cake!

How strange. I have never heard of naked cakes but we went to a wedding on Saturday and they had one. They also had a cheese wedding cake.

The cake was delicious. Really moist. That is probably more down to the baker than the cake being naked. I think the cheese cake was made up of Cornish cheeses. I know there was a Cornish brie and yarg.
