Learn to Knit DVD

Postby annmarie » Fri Sep 26, 2014 9:30 pm

I have a friend who wants to learn to knit, but doesn't have a computer so can't use the on-line tutorials. She can play a DVD. Does anyone know a good one for the basics?

I want to get her yarn and needles for a scarf. I thought Aran would be a nice weight; chunky enough to grow at a reasonable pace, but not so thick it's bulky to handle - or would a hunky one be better?

It will partly depend on what colours I can find - I'm after a tweedy russet.

Would she not be better with a book, Annmarie? Could you not teach her. It is so much easier if someone sitting beside you can show you.

I learnt to crochet from a book and various patterns for knitting from a book, don't know any dvds sorry. I think the mags have basic knitting help with every issue.
