Tatting?

Postby DingleDel » Fri Dec 26, 2014 12:47 pm

Does anyone have any experience or advice on this please? Is it easier than crochet? One of last year's resolutions was to learn to crochet, I did try a few simple stitches but being left handed I did struggle holding the hook. I think if I have more time to practice I could improve but I wondered if trying tatting would be another option.

I will have to keep busy seeing as I will shortly be a "lady of leisure!" :wiggle:

I did tatting about 100 years ago but can remember nothing much about it. Crochet is better I think and I AM left handed too. It is easier when you have practised a bit so stick at it. One you become more skilled crochet is quicker than knitting.

It doesn't seem to need much in the way of equipment so I might have to give it a go once I pack up work....after trying out the needle felting, and the crochet, and the...........

Thank you. I'll look out for some beginners projects. xx

I've done a bit of needle felting. I quite enjoyed doing it and made a couple of brooches. One is a poppy I wear for remembrance Sunday. I don't have the brush to do it on though. I use a pillowcase stuffed with toy stuffing.
