THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - Ten Lords a-Leaping
Re: THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - Ten Lords a-Leaping
Good Morning all. Here is the news at 9.29 am.
It is -5 degrees but the sun is shining. We have had another bucket full of snow during the night. I am warm and toasty as I have just got out of the bath.
Shall I decorate the hall or dining room today? Perhaps not. A little early yet. Maybe next week or the week after.
I might make another card or two today, when I have done my chores.

The news from Leeds this morning ...............
I snuggled in bed for as long as possible until the cat, lording it over me, got me up!
Need to make more heat bags - would like to make one color dark blue for my American BIL
Also need to work on my Landlord duties today - more hours in a day needed at the moment!!
And I've already managed to tick off the CBC quiz answer for the day! Whoopee!!

Here are the day's headlines from Cambs -
A dull, ordinary Friday, but after my early swim, as there was no hail or driving snow I did a quick cycle into town to get a couple of things
Work is progressing nicely for next week's Christmas fair. Today I will be making bracelets and earrings - in coloured pearl or dusky pink foil-lined beads.
Lunch is currently being planned, and will either be a bagel or deep-filled mince pies. Or both.
It is anticipated that nobody will want to be bothered cooking dinner this evening, so we will order a takeaway.
Weather outlook for the rest of the day - dull, dull or dull, with no chance of any sun

This is the 12:38 news today from Haywards Heath and this is Liz Graydon writing it.
The news is being presented in a special order today; weather first.
After overnight temperatures of -9 the sky is grey and overcast with the sun barely struggling through. Temperatures have, however, now reached -4. There is a prospect of more snow and rain this evening with temperatures plummeting even further overnight.
I am busy writing all my Christmas cards and am putting them into two piles: airmail or domestic mail. This task should be finished by the end of today.
Prince William made an excellant speech in trying to help England win the bid for the 2012 world cup. He obliquely referred to his batchelordom when he talked about his own special occassion next year.
The failure to host the 2012 World Cup has mixed blessings. Firstly we won't generate the income for the country that would have been good for the economy but secondly we will not have to put up a football ordeal of drunkenness and yobbish behaviour.
It is rumoured that a new book about Operation Overlord will beat all records for book sales.
Warlord Games are working hard to have the number one games best seller for the Christmas Market.
Lord Carey, a former Archbishop of Canterbury, is determined that Christianity should not be "airbrushed" out of society. He is backing the "Not Ashamed" campaign by pressure group Christian Concern urging British believers to embrace their faith.
Normal news bulletins will resume immediately.

Mid-afternoon news bulletin
Large flocks of birds visiting bird table today. One species not yet identified - could be a kestrel or dunnock, but experts say further sightings will be required to get a definitive identification. Time may be running out as it it will soon be nightfall (or dark as it is sometimes known).
More on that story later...

Severe weather warning:
Freezing fog is causing chaos in the south-east and overnight snowfall or deluge whilst temperatures are in double figures below zero will make driving extremely hazardous. People are advised to stay indoors where at all possible.

News just coming through suggests that the disarray within the Liberal Democrats party about the hike in tuition fees will result in a splitting of the party into two. We understand that the breakaway party will either be called Liberal or Democrats.
