Roll up roll up - tiny box swap

Postby Carolyn » Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:33 pm

So sort out all those bits and bobs and get together a tiny box full of goodies to swap with someone else. You can put in buttons, beads, ribbons, brads, - you name it you can put it in.

I have just had a play and thought we could use an origami box - starting with a piece of thick paper/thin card 14 cms for the box and 14.5 cms fpor the lid - will have another test in a minute....

Swap mid Feb - and make something with some of the contents mid March to coincide with the forums birthday.

What do you think...?

I love the idea, you can count me in. The origami box is something I have made many of in the past so that's no a problem. I just need to decide what to put in it.

I have just tried it with 14cms and it seems like a nice diddy size, and can get quite a bit in - what do you think?

Will give it a try after the weekend when the visitors have gone. I have had to pack all the craft stuff away.

Yes please. I'll play. I am going to Texas to see my son and family in mid March though, so may be late with that part.

How will you send the boxes through the post? Made up....or flat? They won't be very strong I thought ,so may squash in the post?

tbh I thought we would just wing it, they are fairly sturdy once the lid is on the box, but happy to take suggestions. As long as the envelope is sealed then the contents would all be there.

I was going to put mine in a padded envie

Yes a padded one would be best but still in danger of squashing perhaps. I shall make one tomorrow and see.
