Birthday Challenge 1

Postby Kath » Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:09 am

Your challenge for today..........should you choose to accept it.......is to make a couple(or 3 or 4) 3D embellishments. These can be butterflies, dragonflies, flowers :daze: anything you like. They can be bought flowers layered, fancy bows indeed anything your inventive minds can come up with. I hope you enjoy your crafting.

Here are some I have made.

What beautiful crafting, Kath - they are gorgeous.

I've just made a card with layered flowers, but I didn't actually make any of them, so I don' think they would count.

I have not been in all day, Kath, and need to get my craftiness out!!!! Just let all the challenges run to the end of the week of celebrations - I suggested 24th or 25th.

Quite happy to do that, Liz. Just wondered if people didn't like this challenge?

I love the white flower Kath. Adn the one in the top right hand corner I have made recently . We made about 30 and created a wreath for my dad's funeral last month - he loved flowers but preferred to see them growing, and he was a keen origami folder.

i won't get any crafting done for a few days now but will joini in if I can.

The white flower is cut on my Robo.
I have just learned how to do the one in the top right. If you make enough you can make a Kusudama ball. I can see how you could make a wreath too, Christine. I like the half circle personally although a full one would make a nice Christmas decoration. They are easy to make once you see what you are doing.
Thought I would show you a couple of tutorials. These are useful to know how to do I think.

As a matter of interest, in the video you are shown how to make a faux suede paper. I don't always bother to split the paper but I do give it a good mangling to break the fibres. I think the lady uses card for hers which would need splitting. I use paper which doesn't. Well they seem to turn out ok anyway!

I love the yellow rose, is that the one that was free with the robo the other day? I did some of the torn ones for the swap challenge that I did with Melis, I have never done any since.
