Do you colour first - or choose papers

Postby Carolyn » Sat Apr 03, 2010 7:25 pm

...so when you have your RS image or digi - do you get out the papers/card/embellishments you are going to use first and then colour accordingly - or do it the other way around?

I always just use to colour as the fancy took me then found I couldn't quite do what I wanted. So now I choose first - even if I am not quite sure where I will stick it all!

Definately colour first, and i usualy go with colours i like rather than try and match papers.

That i am afraid is a skill i will never have! :-?

I am with Calv - Colour 1st. Papers etc. are all an after thought - no skill with matching papers/embellishment. I guess this is why I tend to faff a fair few hours with making just one card. I do faffing very well - got it down to a fine art :-?

I have a Phd from several places in faffing around .... you name it, I faff!

I think I'd do papers first, otherwise I'd be bound to find I hadn't got one that matched. I tend to get inspired by paper first, anyway, and then I think what else will look good with it (unless I have a particularly scrummy piece of ribbon .... ).

I do both! I carry around my little box with my copics & images & colour them as I feel like - but also like yesterday I coloured an image to match the papers I was using ............................

I have been trying to use up some papers - as my scraps are getting out of hand...so decided to sort out papers first.

It did cut down on faffing!

It depends what I'm doing, but there's no set plan with me, I just make it up as I go along. It usually works out ok in the end.
