Embossing folders

Postby Carolyn » Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:16 pm

I fancy buying a new one of these, but would like some slightly bigger. I have a dots one that is square, and prefer the size, but not sure who makes them this size. Do you have any recommends?

There are quite a few of the bigger ones these days but have never seen a square one. They would be very useful.

I've got that Crafts Too dots one - very useful - but haven't come across any other square ones. I have got a few 5 x 7 ones which are much more versatile than the smaller ones.

Cuttlebug do some and Papermania too.

Good place to browse is http://www.cuttingedgecrafts.co.uk/ or http://www.joannasheen.com/ - she has some lovely Couture Creations folders and also some by Creative Expressions (I've got some of those and they emboss well with my cuttlebug).

I have bought a few embossing folders recently, simaler size to the others. 3 by Darice ( Rulers, clock faces, & a random letters one), another long thin one with numbers & a couple tim holtz ones. Also some masks so when I get some foam/ embossing mat can have a play with doing embossing that way.

As a new SU demonstrator, I hope I am OK to say that I noticed a few of the new embossing folders are a larger size. (longest side = 16.2cm) It's good to see that a few more are coming onto the market, it does annoy me when you need a panel to go right across a 6x6 card.

For the latest card I made on my blog, I actually did something I had never done before, I ran a piece of card through the embossing folder then turned it around and matched the dots up on the embossing folder to make up a longer strip. But I thought at the time, there are not many folders you could do that with. :-?

Agree, some 6x6 folders would be fab.

I'm not sure that 6x6" would go through a cuttlebug though. If so only just!
