handbag

Postby Carolyn » Sat Jan 27, 2018 8:05 pm

Was going to make this into a shopping tote - but in the end it was too small, so revised into a handbag, with internal pocket and includes wadding to that it is nice and upright.

I bought 6 pieces of fabric that were obviously from a curtain sample book, and just loved this one. there are 2 of each design in different colourway. So bought the striped fabric for the backs as make it go further.

Wasn't sure if it would work - but it looks good, am pleased.

I liked the idea of the pocket on this one, so did the same inside, and am now making one for the outside on the other pattern. will share once I have made it.

I didn't do anything complicated really.

This is a really simple way to make a pocket, leave the gap at the top, make it wider and shorter.

Yeah I don't speak French, she always points to where you need to sew. Love when she tells you to zig zag
