Bags

Postby Carolyn » Sun Oct 28, 2018 11:55 am

I have not been making much in the last few weeks, as I have been doing some much needed tidying, in between all of the hospital appointments.
I did make a new little denim bag last week, and have completely forgotten to take a picture!

You can just see the top of it with pink straps, I put a little polka dot patch pocket on the front with a button, and it has a magnetic catch.

This is my half shelf down at my little vintage in Olney

I did this one too, with same fabric:

I like to dabble with various crafts, but at the moment I am loving sewing - and buying fabric.

Used to do loads of cards, but not made a card for months.

I crochet and knit, but seem to buy yarn more than use it!

hospital appointments are all for my husband :)

I hope you are OK, what to you make?

I hope he is well or gets well soon!
Ah, you do all the crafts I don't!
I am ok, suffering with chronic illnesses, not fun when you're 29 and had various issues since 22.

I make jar crafts, terrariums (min gardens in jars) , fairy gardens, resin crafts, jewellery making, teacup crafts, dioramas, general crafts, kids crafts, recycling crafts, and more! I have noticed I do very different things compared to the huge majority in the crafting world. I am still figuring if this is a good or bad thing haha

That is a lot of different things.

I did a terrarium back in the 80s! a little before your time.

What are tea cup crafts?

I am definitely taken by recycling :)

It is a lot! Yes! terrariums were big back then, and now they made a come back. I love using plants in crafts in any way shape or form.
Hmm, let me show you a few examples of teacup art

they are cute, do you sell them or do you have a lot all around the house :)

I used to do a lot with dollshouse miniatures, it is a bit like that.

i'd love to seel but no idea how to ship them :( as they are so delicate., and some things are not glued down, like terrariums, the soil stones etc.
Yep, mainly around the house, sometimes i gift to friends and family, sometimes i take them apart and use for a new project.
what about you ? do you sell?

I put a few things in some local shops, I tried Etsy a few years ago, but got fed up with posting things. and I did sell lots of things - I never found out how to get my things to the top of the search.

There is a shop in Ampthill that has just started to sell terrariums

That's so awesome that you got to sell lots of things :) I would be so happy and chuffed with myself if i sell.
ooh lovely terrariums they are selling. much harder shipping online, most tend to do it as 'kits'

that's good enough for me! i'd be happy with one sale alone, just feels like people like what you make and gives you confidence

do you not have any shops near you that could take a few things. Over the years I have managed to sell some things with independent retailers. like a florist or a tea shop that have a few gifts around.
