Finaly!!! My first residents of the Bee & Bee.

Postby Calv » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:04 pm

At long last i have a couple of residents in my Bee & Bee....my solitary bee hive.

I accidentaly sprayed it with the hose this evening whilst watering the garden, but then i noticed a couple of bees hovering around the holes. So i left them to it, and went out with my camera later on.....

One hole has a big yellow trail of pollen in it.

Not great pics but at least i know they have found some shelter.

You can take the retaining bolts out of the hive and lift the seperate layers off, so you can view the bees in thier individual nests, but i don't want to upset them.

Thanks Clare, it certainly is interesting....those little pods are solid like little rolled bits of dowelling, they have packed thier eggs in thier so tight for protection. Almost looks like a cigar.
