I bought a tin of 120 from a U.K. seller, was a good price and said it came with free sharpener and two colour sticks, but I was disappointed that the sharpener was a bog standard one.
I then bought the extra 12 colours in a set, and a set of metallics and the proper sharpener, and blending stumps in a pack of 5 for about £3, and an eraser like a pen, and blending pencil and pen!
I got a discount voucher from Ebay so the 120 was a lot cheaper and not a lot more than getting it from the USA, where it would have to suffer travelling and possibly tax to pay, so I went for it.
I have been too scared to use them yet!
I am used to using Aquarelle water colours that I bought locally in a small set, and I didn't realise that I could have been using my gum arabic for blending those.
The ebay seller selling one pencil at a time, who I got the extra colours from, has moved to a web site now due to the fees going up.
I watched a video and it was very good, I feel like I need art lessons now! On that vid the demonstrator recommended cotton buds but the ones with wood sticks that are better quality and tighter - has anyone seen those anywhere?
