so does anyone have this and is it noticably any different? Our DVD has just given up and can't decide if it is worth getting - they seem to have come down in price a lot.

Or I can get a DVD that 'uprates' to HD...is this worth it?

We have Blu Ray and there is a noticable difference.. we don't have many Blu Ray dvd's yet - but we have noticed a much crisper image when playing those.. and when playing normal DVD's it does upscale and the quality is clearer - but Blu Ray on a Blue Ray player is fantastic..

We have a Samsung BD P1620 and it's a great machine.. especially as we have a Samsung TV too with Anynet - so everything works together..

...Ok I wimped out - as I could see that I would be too mean to buy blu ray discs. So have just bought a £50 Samsung that does HD - I will get blu ray when they start coming down in price. Might treat myself to freesat next.....
