Claire and I went to Jodi's latest book launch in Glasgow tonight. Jodi read a piece from her new book, "House Rules" and answered lots of questions. She was very interesting and entertaining with one of those voices you could have listened to all night. A copy of the book was included in the ticket and we stayed on for her to sign it. I'm glad I've seen her in the flesh as I'm a great fan of her books, she always tackles issues and makes you think hard about things, but in an entertaining way.Look out for her if she visits near you, if you like her books you'll not be disappointed.

Oh My Jan. Sounds truly wonderful  My youngest is a fan of Jodi Picoult. I will check to see if she is coming to Cambs but I do think It is doubtful as we have very few book shops left  Another, been in Cambridge over 100 years, is closing due to the current climate I will let my daughter know you met with her and tell her what you thought, I know she will be interested indeed. I didn't think she wrote the type of books I would like but when I was on holiday I borowed one from the hotel and I couldn't put it down.
Glad you enjoyed meeting her.

Just searched her www and see she is coming to Ely on May 3rd - will see if I can manage to get a ticket for Claire, will be a nice addition to her b'day gifts on the 4th May. This might help Kath http://www.jodipicoult.com/Carole Editing to say I have managed to get a ticket   Don't even have to go and pick it up - it will be waiting at the door for her We will drive her and drop her off then will find somthing for Lil and I to do while she is being enthralled by Jodi Picoult It will indeed be a very busy day as we are celebrating Claire's b'day a day early as she is working on the 4th and then clarinet lesson in the evening so she doesn't get home until 7.30pm. We are off to Denny Abbey for their craft event for Claire's b'day on the Monday - the event will indeed finish off the day nicely for her Thank you Janny for posting the original info.

Check it out, I missed the london one  I can't read her books too close together as they can be quite samey, but I like that they take situations that could happen to anyone and make you think about what you would do. _________________ Paula

Thanxs Janny I am fit to burst - am saving to tell Claire of the surprise till Monday. A knitting friend of both me and DD has been in touch saying she was thinking of going. Hoping she will/manage to get a ticket as Claire will be thrilled seeing her there too Carole

I started to read her books last summer and I love them. Thanks for the info, will have to check out her new book. I'm reading 'Change of heart' at the moment
