Carolyn,
Can't remember what format a Kindle takes, but I know it isn't Epub. At the back of my mind, there is something telling me it's an Amazon-specific format. I know they are opening their UK ebook shop in a couple of weeks (probably why WH Smith is doing a good sale!)

I have a Sony reader, Carolyn, so it can read quite a few formats - I use Epub format for books though.
