I have memories of sitting so close to this tiny little balck & white set watch things like Mary, MUngo & Midge and Mr Benn. Well I am so old we didn't have a television!!! I was 18 and away at college when my Mum and Dad had their first TV. I remember going to watch the Coronation though on my friend's parents tv! They bought their TV in time to watch this event.  _________________ Kath Kath's Blog

I am fairly sure it was the wooden tops, I do remember there being very little TV for a child! The Magic Roundabout too.
Then I think as I got older Crackerjack sticks in my mind and Magpie...was never a Blue Peter fan - thought it was a bit old fashioned!

Pogles Wood. I loved the little pipe cleaner family that lived in a wooden pencil box. (I can't find any mention of the pipe cleaners). I have googled pogles wood and can you believe it, there is a web site. Reading it, I don't think I reaslised it was so full of magic. Mind you, I was born in 1965 so I could have only been 2 when they stopped broadcasting it. http://www.pogleswood.org/Melis

I too remember Pogles Wood. I was born in 1960. We did not have a TV until 1969. I liked to 'Watch with Mother' TV programmes such as The Wooden Tops, Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben The Flower Pot Men. As I got older I liked Tales from the Riverbank, Bagpus, Crystal Tips and Alistair, Mr Ben, Magic Roundabout, Blue Peter and The Clangers.

FINALLY...people who have heard of Pogles Wood.
I loved watching Pipkins. I also liked the programme that ran in the summer holidays that was called Why don't you just switch off your TV and do something less boring instead.
When the children were little I loved watching Wind in the willows. (With David Jason as the voice of Toad). We would rush home from school and have hot buttered crumpets and hot chocolate. (It was winter). A little while ago a paper was giving DVDs away of it. When I was ill and laying on the sofa, Dale put it on for me to cheer me up.
