Fakin' It
OK, we're not going to ask you pass yourself off as a champion ice skater or a Michelin starred chef, we'd just like you to fake something on your crafty project. There are lots of 'faux' techniques around and lots of reasons to use them (cheaper, less bulky for posting, a 'clean' inside to the card etc etc).
Here's mine to kick you off, several 'fakes' on this one.
- Fake patterned paper - inks and rubber stamps
- Fake tearing - the top and bottom of the card are actually a single layer (there's a tutorial here if you want to have a go at this)
- Fake matting - copper gel pen line between the dragonfly image and the green layer to give the appearance of another matt
- Fake brads - cardstock punched out with an eyelet punch. If you have Glossy Accents or something similar, you can add a little to make them even more like brads
You can choose one fake or lots - entirely up to you!
Pop your entries in the gallery or link the picture from another hosting site if you prefer but we'd love to see them! You will be entered into a draw for a CBC CREW FABULOUS prize each time you show us a completed project for this challenge.
If you add your card to the gallery enter keyword CBCC050 and we'll be able to see the Entries Here

Here's one from me which I made for a similar challenge on a challenge blog.........my 'faux' is the lettering. They are made up of layers of hand cut card letters instead of chip board

Fake chipboard's a good one! I've heard of people stacking a different colour in the middle as well to get a striped effect.

well I will try the faux ripping for the ATC swap.
The background is faux batik - clear embossing on white mulberry paper then sprayed, ironed and then crumpled and highlighted.
The leaves are faux metal - copper embossing on shiny gold card and coloured in any tiny spaces with gelly roll glaze pens (hunter green and orange).
You can't tell by the scan but the leaves are shiny.

That's lovely, the leaves look great and perfect pairing with the sentiment!

Not sure i'm 100% happy with the random stamped background-needs a little more practise!

I've found that my own random stamping never looks as good as other people's random stamping Nick. By that token - this looks great to me!
