I thoroughly enjoyed making this, Sue. Thank you. I haven't made one before but they are like the fans we used to make as children aren't they? I gather you can buy a punch for these but I can't imagine why people need a punch . How does the punch work? What does it do?

Just doing this when your picture arrived , Liz. Another good one!

Loving all these rosettes - fab challenge, Sue.

I recently made these for a commission by a headteacher friend for her school, using my Hougie board. They are six inches in diameter.

I had previously had a practice at making a large rosette - discovered I needed to make two 12" x 3" strips and put together. I eventually used this practice one on this card, which had to be an 8 x 8 because of the size of the rosette:

Lovey stuff ladies

Kath the die cuts a strip and adds scores at quite fine intervals so it does make a really dainty rosette.

I had always made them by hand but have to concede the die cut ones are more dainty and even

Ah, right. I couldn't work out how the die worked! I thought you are going to have to cut it anyway to get it in your machine. I didn't think about the scoring bit! Mind it isn't a long job to score is it? Maybe if it makes it neater, but they all look good to me!

Will try and get a piccie of something I did but a tip if you are making lots of rosettes score a whoe 12 by 12 sheet before cutting into strips - far easier than trying to score strips

Nice one Carolyn. i don't have the punch either but I do have a Martha Stewart scoring board which I REALLY like. I think it is one of my best buys.
