Take the black ink out and re sit it... sometimes carts don't sit right in the printer and therefore don't pierce the film to release the ink..

What printer do you have ??

Go to start - printers and faxes - right click on your printer - click on printing preferences - click on the maintainance tab - and click on Nozzle Check.. (you will need the printer on and paper in) instructions will then come up on the screen...

HTH hun..

It sounds like your epson is just starting to do what my epson (different model) did all the time.

It starts with nozzle checks then progresses to you having to be cleaning the print heads every time you want to print something - if it does start doing this then save yourself a lot of ink money and buy a new one (but ONLY if it starts acting like this), however if it is that the ink carts are not in properly then problem solved.

If I remember rightly its a fairly new printer... if so should still be under warranty if there is an issue..

I have had Epson printers for years and only ever had one that couldn't do what it said it could..

I have only had one epson printer and it seems I got a dodgy one as after a couple of months it started not working properly and as it was my first printer I didnt realise you shouldnt go through such a palava every time you print  - I was unlucky but it was enough to put me off.

If your printer is still in warranty then take it back asap (like I was wishing I had done with mine)

Thanks for the replies  s
While i have had a crafty day at my friends house with lots of tea and choc cake :P hubby has messed with it. He looked at my cartridges which were in ok then he just tried the test printer and it worked ok
It's fantastic that it's working now but did he have to do it so fast as i had spent hours on it
Katie i've only had this printer a few months and apart from my changing ink problems it's been fantastic :)
Now a very happy printer user again :)
Thanks again  s
