OK, I will have to assume noone else has had a go of this stuff. I have seen the stuff on ebay and the melting pot alone is £40 and that could be a set of copics instead, so I properly won't be trying it.

I haven't tried it but if you want to melt UTEE without a melting pot you can use an old tin - clean out thoroughly and remove labels, find somethign to create a handle and use like a pan on a cokker ring. Don't overheat the UTEE and be really careful when transferring it about as it really sticks when hot and can cause really nasty burns

Thanks for that idea...if I decide to have a go, the old tin sounds like a good plan :)

Another way I've seen of melting UTEE (courtesy of Robert from Once Upon a Stamp) is to put the UTEE powder into a tin foil take away meal type container. Push one of the narrow ends into a "spout" and fasten a peg on the other end. Then melt powder with a heat gun. I haven't tried this myself but have seen Robert demo-ing it.
