Had a lovely play with the FP bits that Silky Chicken sent, and am quite pleased with some of the results.

I shall have to get them on the gallery.

Please do Carolyn - I've been playing with this stuff too and find it anything but friendly!

I think I overheat it cos I end up with a gooey sticky mess!

Tori

Thank you so much for that - I have a similar lump of the stuff sitting on my desk - it's supposed to be a butterfly, but it's just a pretty coloured lump. When Sara said how much she enjoyed susing it I just had to give it a whirl.

I think I've made about 4 things that weren't bin-worthy - and they were using moulds!

I sent a couple to Jan in the Belly swap, poor love!

I saw it demo'd at the NEC and I did the following

Cut thin strips of colours - I used a patterned then a plain etc etc in complementing colours, then I lined them up. I then heated them and dragged a cocktail stick - to make that feathered pattern like the icing on Mr Kiplings cakes. I then cut this into rectangles and mounted them onto a plain pice by heating it first then pressing my design on top and heating up the lot.

I then cut tiny pieces of triangles, heated up a small rectagle and pushed the tiny pieces into it - and heated up the lot - liked these the best.

i use my heat gun - not hot water.

I used my heat gun too - there must be a knack I've not found yet - oh well, maybe I'll give it one more go!

We used a heat gun as well, I bought some for my 11 year old lad for his b'day, he enjoyed it & so did I, made a badge with another piece layered & stamped into & put some gems into it, ( carolyns), warning, don't get the gems hot with the heat gun as they melt.but it holds them nicely if you just puch them in when the fp is still warm.Danny made a nice necklace with a load of stamped pieces that we threaded onto plaited raffia.

I have just added mine to the gallery...It is simple but hopefully effective. The FP is a bit metallic and this doesn't show too well on the scan.

Carolyn,

I love the card and the colour too, one of my favs.

I brought some FP from QVC a little while back and still havn't tried it out yet :(
I really must have a go. Thing is, I keep doing that - buying things to try and never getting round to it!

I've got Fimo, A little quilling kit, A little silk painting kit and an encaustic wax kit all just waiting to be played with :o but I never seem to have the time.
