I had the mat thing...and still managed to make the FP stick to it.

Carolyn...it is just like a mousemat but made from reddybrown rubber.

What it was for, I thought, was to heat the FP on...but I had no success (with the mat or the FP...it has now gone to a good home)

I just heat mine on baking foil and it has'nt stuck (I've probably given it the kiss of death now!) You could use a teflon baking sheet.

Carolyn
Just looked at your pic and my attempts haven't been anything like that! :(
Still, you've inspired me to have another go.

I haven't found it sticking btw - well, at least not if you leave it to cool down a bit first.

Try working on a piece of baking parchment.

Thanks Iggy

I'd love to see your leaf - maybe you (or I) could scan it and put it on the site - if you wouldn't mind that is - I'll PM you.

I had a bit more success with it at the weekend - in fact, I might even say I was pleased with the results - which is a very long way ahead of previous attempts! :)

Now I need more inspiration for what to do with it - the feather-icing technique is great and I'm ready for the next stage!

Any suggestions (and keep it clean - I know what you lot are like!)

A friend of mine sticks old jewellery in it- very effective, but you have to be careful about the weight...she has to stick pennys on the back of the card to balance it.

Kathy,
I am the same have done the one in the pic and the feather - now not sure what else to do. Obviously it has to be fairly flat for the card - I need inspiration....must think harder!

Iggy - sounds like you have loads of inspiration - do you use yours for cards or for jewellery - or both?

What do you use to cut it iwth - I have been using scissors, but guess I need to use a knife to cut more interesting shapes.

If my scanning isn't up to scratch I'll get The Boss to do it!

I'm waiting for so many parcels at the moment that I'm almost dragging the postwomans arm through the letterbox - and boy is it disappointing when all that comes is junk mail and bills. :(
Did get a sachet of coffee thanks to Kate this morning - but NO craft stuff. bummer.
