Lil has altered some placemats/coasters. When they are finished - 2 placemats/coasters done just one more of each to do - I will try and show them to you. She has used a collage effect. Very stunning indeed.

Oh please don't give me any more ideas!!! I am getting so frustrated, so much to do....so little time!
they look really good BTW...I have loads of older tatty ones that I could "tart up!"....perhaps I'll do them for next christmas!

We've got some scruffy ones which could do with a new lease of life. Excellent idea. I'm sure varnish you get for doing that napkin stuff (technical term ) would do the trick (Ellen would probably know this as I think she does it)

I have a pot of decoupage vranish..or something like that. I think I got it from hobbycraft afew years back when I "tarted" up a few little wooden boxes and one of those paper mache vases.
I believe it is made by deco art, I will check.

It's not, it's Royal Coat Finish from Panduro. It's a glue/varnish so you can use it as you build up your design layer by layer.

Has anyone managed to do one of these and seal them. I was looking at Artist acrylic varnish and wondered if that would do?
There is a halloween project in the Nov 05 issue of Scrapbook magic where they did coasters. I don't have the mag, just saw the page ...in next month's issue which showed them. Does anyone have a copy and can post what they recommended as a sealant.
Cheers
Ruthie

How about spray varnish to seal them.
