Well I was thinking a wine bottle ...............
And no I'm not crazy (well only a wee bit)
We use them in the summer for candles in the garden and have a few that are nicely building up their dribbly wax necks.
I might just alter a couple of bottles and make them pretty for this summer. Now where do I get an empty wine bottle from????

Purplepenguin .. the altered bottle things sound pretty cool. I don't drink wine, nor touch any alcohol, odd occassion of bitter shandy, friends though drink lots of wine etc. so would be interested to hear about the bottle carriers.
Becky, if you cannot manage to find an empty bottle my friend has loads looking forward to seeing/hearing how your going to alter the bottles.

I'll carry on with the alcoholic theme
The cannisters that malt whisky comes in are fab, some are metallic too. I've 4 of them filled with ribbons and flowers at the mo, dh tolerates them in their unaltered state, not sure if he'd appreciate them altered

Any kind of tin (eg Sweetie tins, biscuit tins, cans)
Tic-tac boxes (eg as a store to hold your brads or eyelets)
Pringle tubes (yum!)
Body Shop Body Butter tubs
The little pots that some moisturisers come in
Aveeno cleansing pad tubs
Any kind of 'packaging' of a sturdy kind I would think
Coin holders
Notebooks
Box files
Tool boxes
Coasters
Placemats
Games pieces (eg dominoes, jigsaw pieces)
CDs
CD jewel cases
Playing cards
Wooden letters
Clipboards
Pegs
Bulldog clips
Paperclips?
I have also seen (somewhere) an altered camera!!!!
And don't forget...the infamous altered floor!!!

What about one of the door hangers?
The one you place over the door handle, saying the persons name, or do not disturb!

As I was sat at work today, I thought how cute my stapler would be if it was altered. So add that to the list. I also have a couple of clear containers (plastic) on my desk containing paper clips/tacks; they'd also look better tarted up.
Come on girls, we could have the best dressed desks in our workplaces Any other work-related stuff that could be altered to make it a brighter day?
I stopped off at the supermarket on my way home from work and found that I was eyeing up all the containers with a view to altering!
