Below is a list of ideas for items to alter from your suggestions.

Please post on the original Altered List Post for any items you would like to be added to this list! Methinks this list could be endless!

Anything can be used when altering items. Make sure you have a look at Carolyn's gorgeous goodies for items such as ribbons, brads, tags, fibres and much much more!

Think recycle - what are you putting in the bin which with a few crafty changes could be given a new lease of life? Think old clothes that may be thrown out, old key board keys, broken jewellery, dried flowers and leaves from the garden, leftover paint from decorating, wallpaper leftovers or samples, old office supplies, packaging, wrapping paper, magazines, newspapers to name but a few!

Keep an small box on your craft table for remnants from other projects as the smallest pieces of leftovers can be used in altered projects.
And don't forget that all your card making skills can be used when creating your altered art!

Baby Milk Tins
Superb storage vessels.

Baked Bean/Soup Tins
Can be made with the items filled and the lid glued back on or without the lid with or without handle.

Beer Mats
Similar to Placemats/Coasters

Biscuits Tin
Another form of tins that can be altered.

Bookmarks
The sky is the limit!

Books
For making into altered journals, book ends etc

Bottle Caps
These can be made into jewellery or as items to go on an altered project, card or scrapbook.

Box Files
Making mildly dull office paraphernalia far more interesting.

Boxes
All Sizes! Think free boxes - Paper Ream Boxes from work or packaging.

Bulldog Clips

Candles

Canvasses

CD Cases
For storing altered CD, um-mounted rubber stamps or ATC's - decorated to fit the theme of item enclosed.

CD's
As alternates to cards or decorations - also a few could be put together as a miniature scrapbook.

Chalkboards

Children's Hardback Thick Books
Cover with Paper or sand lightly with acrylic paint and make an altered book. These books can come in a variety of shapes.

Christmas Baubles
Glitter, Images, Ribbons, Fibres, Micro Beads, Adirondack Alcohol Inks can all be added to change the look of Christmas Baubles.

Either single letters or whole names/words. These look fab in any style - funky, retro, distressed or vintage for example.

Wooden Picture Frames
Cheap frames can be picked up from a variety of places - painted with Acrylic Paints or gorgeous papers attached adorned with any embellishments you fancy!
