Anybody altered the galvanised tins - pencil holders?

Hi

Was wondering what to make my sons teacher this year and I remembered being impressed by somebody altering a set of mini galvanised tins to do a pencil holder - well today I struck lucky and found a new set in a charity shop - for £1.!

BUT ...... now I can't find the picture!! I've been searching the forum for ages, so please if any of you have done them could you share your pics??? in need of inspiration.!
