Does anyone know where I can buy some heavyweight 4" X 4" cheap coasters to decorate. Hope someone can help.

Not sure about heavyweight coasters Diane, but i spent the afternoon alcohol inking plain white ceramic tiles with the kids, they look well funky. I guess they could be used for coasters or trivets. Not sure how the ink would react to heat though come to think about it?

The cheap basic tiles go for about 20p each in most places like B&Q, i guess you could add stamps, embossing, paint effects and other stuff to it. Our local art shop sells them for 20p, i'm just off to get another 20 for us to play with.

Not sure about anything else though, not heavyweight anyway.

Do you mean the melamine coated type ones?
If so I may have some in my 'sometime soon will alter stash' I will gladly send you some to have a play with. Not sure they are 4x4 though, but can check for you. If you would like to search for your own the best place to start is the charity shops.
I have on my soon to alter list is some beer type mats - hopefully to make a mini book.
The tiles sound fab Calv. Any pics to share?
