There always seems to be something cookery wise on TV...do you watch any?

So Masterchef - what do you thin...it drives me nuts!

I record Saturday Kitchen and whizz through the bits that I have seen before or do not interest me

...I just can't get to grips with the new Waitrose ad with Delia and Heston - they just do not go together.....

I rarely watch cookery programmes, apart from the odd Jamie Oliver when he's doing roasts..mmmmm. :) There just seems like too many nowadays.

I did watch a really interesting documentary the other night called, "Michelin Stars - The Madness of Perfection". It focused on the pressures of going for that coveted star, and what it means to gain, and lose stars. It really did seem like madness at times, grown men and world reknowned chefs having breakdowns over just the fear of losing a star. As one said, the inspectors know less about food than i do, yet they have the power to make or break your business.

Unfortunately it's not available on iplayer any more, but heres the programme i'm on about just in case you see it on the telly again.

It is quite silly - and some of the dishes they do are not mainstream...a lot of the time something I wouldn't want to eat. Will ahve to watch out for it.

Tend not to watch cookery programmes, although I did so enjoy the Hairy Bikers 'mum knows best' The Waitrose Ads. with Delia/Heston really must be costing them some money, will be interesting to see/hear if the Ads. will attract more trade. My youngest feels quite poorly even thinking about Masterchef - it is the food tasting/judging part that makes her feel bad. I did so enjoy the Sports Relief cook off, made me giggle, my youngest had to look away when it came to the tasting/judging.

Jamie Oliver Food Revolution is AMAZING.

We watch it going 'OMG I can't believe that' all the way through.

Not sure if you have it on too - it's the school dinners one in a fat US town. The school dinner ladies are sooo nasty. The kids are not given knives and forks EVER and when Jamie gives them cutlery, the kids can't use it at age 10!!!!! They get pizza for breakfast. They don't know what a tomato is. None of the kids knew what a potato looked like.

It's so shocking that it makes brilliant TV. It's our current fave TV show. :)

You say that about knives and forks.. i've had that with my sons at their dads house.. my eldest is ten this week, the middle one is 9 this year... and they rarely get given a knife with their food there.. and when they are at mine they struggle with them..

I do Masterchef - though I wish they'd just get on with the cooking and not use the same cliches each time!

I love seeing what people cook, though the chefy presentation seems OTT a lot of the time - I like different versions of the ingredient, but when they make complcated constructions of it it seems a bit of a fuss!

Our local pub does its chips in a separate mug on the plate ... seems unnecessary to me!

And whatever programme you watch ..... you never see any washing up!! (That fairy doesn't live in my house!)

It just started in the US and Canada on Friday night, and had a huge opening night show. Jamie was on Oprah on Friday , and made chicken nuggets, which we've since made twice from his recipe.

I <3 Jamie Oliver. It's amazing what he's achieved, and he's younger than me!!! :envy:
